Week 25 (post 2)

Week 25/6th Month
Baby is an Eggplant or a Rutabaga

TheBump ~ Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
BabyCenter ~ Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

How big is baby: she is about 13.5 inches long and weighs about 1lb 5oz.
Total weight gain: I forgot to weigh myself this morning
Maternity clothes? Yup..but i dont have many which is hard since its hot out still.
Sleep: Could be better. Been getting up every couple hours to use the washroom.
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery cleaned out more!
Movement: Yup..a lot more than now.
Belly Button in or out? its becoming an outtie
Stretch marks? none yet
What I miss: Sleeping through a whole night (but i know that will never happen again lol) and fitting in all of my clothes.
What I am looking forward to: the fall and getting a little cooler outside and my baby shower =)
Labor Signs: i'm having braxton hicks contractions every once in a while..i think.
Milestones: 103 days to go =)

busy, busy, busy

It was a very busy weekend for us..well at least it was for me. I'm very worn out again.

Saturday...I took my CNA certification test...i hope i did good b/c i don't remember learning more than half of that stuff in class and either did some of my classmates. The roofing guy came over to look at our 2 windows that they are replacing for use due to that bad storm we had.

Sunday...it was my moms birthday! We ended up going over there for lunch and laid around in the pool for a little while. We went back home and worked more on the nursery. Joe and my dad also started moving around the cable/internet cords so they are upstairs instead of the nursery.

Today...our roof is finally getting replaced! =)

Moving Along...

Last night I filled out my Pre-Registration for the hospital and mailed it out today! I'm excited and nervous. A couple weeks ago we also registered for the birthing classes. I hope those will be worth the money since they were expensive. I've been reading mixed emotions on all of these birthing classes so i'm a little hesitant.

Up next:
Registering at Babies R Us and Target for all of the adorable baby things.
AND
Working more on the nursery!! =) I'm super excited for this one lol. Tomorrow we are having one of the windows measured for a new one that we are using our insurance money for (from the huge storm we had). And we are hopefully buying paint this weekend so we can get painting before adding new carpeting.

Sydney is kicking a lot more today than she has, i feel like her personal punching bag lol.

New buy!

So i decided to make my first baby purchase that's not diapers. I went on Etsy.com and bout her this adorable bear hat that we will use when we take her home after she is born =)

Isn't it cute?! Now all i have to do is find a cute going home outfit for her!

Life unexpected...

Well its been a looooooonnnnnnnnnng while once again...hopefully I can keep up on it this time.

Well...I've gone back to school for medical. I take my CNA certification test this coming Saturday (fingers crossed i do well) and then i can go to nursing school.

On another note...we're having a BABY! Due December 11, 2011. It is a girl...we're naming her Sydney Grace. We're excited, nervous, scared, happy, all of the emotions you can think of. We found out in April that i was pregnant. I took an at home test the day i was taking my test to get into nursing school only to find out it said POSITIVE! I took 2 just to double check, then i had to drive all the way to nursing school to take the entrance exam. I ended up calling Joe on his work lunch break to tell him "hey guess what?! I'm prego. lol" His response was, "Umm...oh". It's taken him a while but he's used to it especially seeing my ever growing belly and watching me try to find clothes that actually fit lol. He did want a boy but I told him Sydney is going to have him wrapped around her little finger and she'll more than likely be a daddys girl.

I am now 23 weeks (5 months) and i am subscribed to 2 different baby sites that tell me how big Sydney is growing each week: I love getting these =)

BABY CENTER
How your baby's growing:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

THE BUMP
Your Baby: Month 5
Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop
